Expat Network Jobs Newsletter - February 2021

Welcome to Expat Network’s Jobs Newsletter.

The pandemic continues to dominate life and we look here at various impacts that it is having. Working from home is a new experience for many. We look at the challenges and how to overcome them. We also look forward to the safe return of business travel and what is required to make it happen.

Living and working remotely has been brought to the fore for many leading to people to think about the potential to work in an entirely different environment. CoWorking is an option taken up by many digital nomads and CoLiving takes this to another level.

A survey looking at trends for employers sending assignees abroad says that there is an increasing focus on the lifestyle ambitions of assignees rather than simply the operational impact for the business.

One of the best ways to prepare for a move abroad is to listen to the experiences of those who have already made the move. MoneyTransfers.com have created list of the Top 20 blogs by UK expats and we publish the list here.

As well as links to some of the new job opportunities available at www.expatnetwork.com, we explore some of the many issues affecting your working life as an expat - or would-be expat.

We are, as always, here to help and welcome any suggestions on topics that you would like us to cover. Just write to expats@expatnetwork.com. So if you have any queries about expat jobs or other topics don't hesitate to drop us an email. We love to hear from you!

Challenges Of Working From Home And How To Overcome Them

We are in that season when everyone stays home more than they stay outside. Many workplaces closed and decided on their employees working from home to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. At first, working at home was a dream come true, but as the months went by, you have realized you missed that office space of yours, and working at home is more stressful and tiring than working out.

The Safe Return Of Business Travel In 2021

The corporate world has suffered the most through the COVID-19 pandemic, right from when the first case was reported in 2019. In-person conferences have since been canceled, international travel halted, and the resulting economic recession has crippled businesses worldwide. 2021 brings hope to the travel industry, and international trade for that matter, as COVID vaccination programs, continue to gather pace around the world.

Coworking And Coliving – An Option For Remote Workers And Digital Nomads

Remote working can give the freedom to work anywhere leading to the growth in digital nomads but takes away the communal element of the traditional office. Coworking in shared offices is a practical option and coliving takes it to the next level where you live and work in an environment with others looking for community and the facilities needed to work effectively.

Lifestyle Ambitions Of Expat Employees Now A Bigger Priority

A major new piece of research* undertaken by AXA Global Healthcare, in which 543 HR Decision Makers were surveyed, has highlighted changes in international working and global mobility, with the main beneficiary being the assignees themselves and the lifestyle ambitions of expat employees.
